Created by Pita Lucero of Jemez Pueblo, this one of a kind butterfly doll is made of clay that has been hand gathered, processed and fired outdoors in the traditional way. The paints are all made of traditional materials as well. This one of a kind three-dimension plate by Pita Lucero measures about 8-5/8" in diameter and is decorated with two flowers and a butterfly. One flower has a turquoise stone in the center, the other a small square of inlay work. Pita designs her plates so that they can be displayed at many different angles--there is no right side up.
