Sharon is better known by her Odawa name Waawaaskonenhens. She was born to the Three Fires Odawa Nation in Canada, part of the Wikwemikong unceded Reserve---a place
known world-wide for beautiful artwork. At an early age, Sharon began creating works of art using pencils, pen, charcoal, pastel and paints. Mid-way through life, Sharon chose
to put down her pencils and brushes and pick up a beading needle. Today she creates unique, one-of-a-kind pieces combining traditional designs and materials with a contemporary feel.
A member of the IACA, Sharon is an award-winning, juried artist whose pieces incorporate bone, horn, shell, deerskin, stones and other natural materials.
